Entertainment on American Idol
The hottest show in the entertainment industry right now is American Idol. Each week these fantastic performers entertain us with their ever improving singing and performance skills. Yet there is something more to the show, something awkward that goes beyond entertainment. Have you ever noticed during American Idol that Ryan Seacrest will talk about the performer with both Randy and Simon, but somehow never ask Paula anything specific? Odd isn`t it? Honestly, I used to think that they had a bit of a romance going on between them that went awry, but it seems to be substantially deeper than that. So what really happened between Seacrest and Paula to make them loathe one another so bad?
"It`s awkward. I don`t know what the deal is. It`s very awkward," Seacrest told People Magazine on his frosty relationship with Abdul. When asked if he was speaking to Paula, he answered: "No." He also admitted he hasn`t confronted Paula yet about their problems. A source close to Seacrest says he was just joking about the feud, but another source told People that the relationship has been ?icy? since they each appeared separately on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno recently. In Seacrest`s March 30 appearance, Leno said that Abdul had seemed "a little loopy" on a recent episode of Idol to which Seacrest replied, "Well, have you listened to her album?"
When Leno asked whether Paula had been drinking, Seacrest answered, "Hey look, I don`t look in their cups to see what`s sitting before them on that table. But at times I feel like we have reeled her in." Abdul, 43, had a chance to shoot back when she appeared on the show on April 10. Leno brought out an issue of Rolling Stone magazine that featured the three Idol judges prominently on the cover (and Seacrest in a small photo) and asked whether Seacrest was mad about being excluded. "I heard plenty mad," replied Abdul. Keep on watching and being entertained as this American Idol drama unfolds!
