ROO Brings DVD Quality Internet to You
Have you ever wondered if it were possible to have a TV watching experience online? ROO Group Inc., an online broadcast network, has created a next-generation `online video player` that provides a TV watching experience in an online environment. In ROO`s video player, new features are provided, including the ability to view DVD quality videos at full screen, the ability to easily search through ROO`s extensive library, and has a user-friendly interface.
`Our new video player is designed and engineered to deliver on the promise of bringing the TV experience to the Internet,` said ROO CEO Robert Petty. `As broadband penetration increases and users become accustomed to watching online video, they are demanding a high-quality and compelling viewing experience similar to what they experience from their TVs. Our new video player delivers on those demands by providing an exciting and TV-like experience on their computer screens.`
ROO`s next generation video player`s feature-set is aimed at recreating the TV viewing experience on a computer screen. Users with high-speed broadband connections can now watch videos at a 700k per second bit rate, which is virtually identical in quality to a DVD video. Unlike Flash based video players, ROO`s next generation player allows videos to be expanded to fill the entire monitor screen without any loss in video quality. Another added feature is the expanded video search capability that allows users to quickly sift through ROO`s entire library of over 5,000 video titles, allowing them to easily find artists, actors and topical news stories while simultaneously watching video content. The new `Send Video to a Friend` option allows users to share their favorite fashion video or a compelling news story by simply sending an e-mail to a friend or colleague.
ROO`s beta testing on the new video player has shown that people are watching two and a half times more videos per user session compared to its previous video players and spending a longer amount of time on the host site. ROO attributes this increase to the simple and easy to navigate user interface.
