Dominique Vandenberg Releases New Book and Film
Dominique Vanderberg, former martial artist and assassin, is now a famous movie star and author. His new book release, an autobiography, `The Iron Circle: The True Life Story of Dominique Vandenberg` will be in stores this month. In addition, he is working on a Dream Works animated version of `Beowulf` (based on the bestselling translation by Seamus Heaney).
`The work is completely different from what I`ve been doing but I adapt pretty quickly,` says Vandenberg, star of several action films, including the recent hit Fox Entertainment DVD release, `Pit Fighter`. His acute martial arts techniques have garnered praise from the likes of actor Leonardo DiCaprio (Vandenberg`s co-star in the historical action film `Gangs of New York`) and acclaimed action film director and stunt coordinator, Vic Armstrong.
Boasting a star-studded cast, including Angelina Jolie, Anthony Hopkins and John Malkovich, Beowulf, set for a release date of 2007, marks yet another notch on Vandenberg`s ever-growing list of films credits. As the film`s fight coordinator, the Belgian-born actor must choreograph all of the movie`s fight scenes, as well as pose for the part of the physical Beowulf. Animators are modeling the leading man`s fighting moves against Vandenberg`s own physical techniques for a more realistic feel.
With actual shooting of the film starting in October, Vandenberg has much to look forward to in the coming weeks ahead, including the release of his first book, `The Iron Circle`. This September release has received early praise from several of Hollywood`s most notable figures such as famed director Martin Scorsese who declared the book compulsively readable. Recounting his achievements as a world champion martial artist, a French Foreign Legion Paratrooper, an assassin and a modern samurai, the book offers readers a look into the vicious world of a man driven by danger, instinct and glory, a larger-than-life tale sure to satisfy the thirst for blood of action fans everywhere.
