`Nanny McPhee` gets VooDooDog Ending
VooDooDog, the Emmy-nominated London-based creative company, has just finished producing the animated movie credits sequence for the new film `Nany McPhee` (Working Title/Universal Pictures). The movie stars Emma Thompson, Colin Firth, and Angela Lansbury. The director is Kirk Jones, known for his work in `Waking Ned`. The film`s end progression features the seven ill-disciplined children of the movie creating chaotic surroundings for themselves and their lives during the Victorian times.
David Z.Obadiah, Producer at VooDooDog explains the process: `In total, this project took about 6 weeks with the team working very long hours and weekends. At the busiest time, we had 12 people working on this project, including the animation director, producer, 2D animators, compositor, background designers and layout artists. We also had a small team of 3D artists to create the main title of Nanny McPhee at the beginning of the film.`
Creative Director of VooDooDog Paul Donnellon explains the making of the piece: `The idea we proposed for the title sequence involved simple animation of the characters which interacted with the text. A different scenario was created for each title, with each scenario having its own crafted design. As the animation continued, we experimented with different colours and textures to achieve the feel we were after.`
Kirk Jones, Director of `Nanny McPhee`says, `It is not unusual for title sequences to be left so late that there is too little time to produce anything of quality. VooDoodog took an initial brief and within a short space of time delivered a sequence so charming, original and well designed that my only concern was whether audiences would leave the cinema praising their titles more than my film!`
