`W47 Films` Formed
A new film production company has been formed by Matthew Quinn Martin and Colleen Sturtevant named `W47 Films`. `Box`, their first project, is a psychological thriller is under development now. Both Sturtevant and Martin live in New York City, and plan to produce several other projects together in the future. Martin and Sturtevant met while working on the production of his screenplay `Slingshot`, starring Julianna Margulies, David Arquette, Thora Birch, Balthazar Getty and Joely Fisher.
Martin began work in the professional theater in 1996. Working alongside actors such as Sam Waterston, Denis O`Hare, Thomas Jay Ryan, and Jane Alexander, as well as with such well respected directors as Stan Wojewolski, Jr., Michael Wilson, Tracey Brigdan and Daniel Fish. In 1997, he co-founded the critically acclaimed New Haven Theater Co., where he would serve as artistic director until its dissolution in 2002. Early in 2003 Matthew turned his attention to writing. Matthews original screenplay `Slingshot` was made into a major motion picture. `Slingshot` premiered at the 2005 TriBeCa Film Festival. Recently, Matthews play `Poison` premiered at the NY Collectives 10x2 play festival and is also currently at work on a feature length script with Sully of the band `Godsmack`.
Sturtevant began her professional career in show business in Los Angeles, CA and went on to produce several media projects, including a documentary and environmental calendar featuring models, actors and the work of several fashion designers, then relocated to New York City in 2002 and has continued to work in the entertainment industry on various feature film and television projects, including `Slingshot`. Sturtevant has also worked with many respected actors.
