2006 International Horror Film Festival - Buffalo SCREAMS
Greg Lamberson, Emil Novak, and David R. Williams, horror gurus and major horror film icons in this industry are sponsoring the 2006 Buffalo SCREAMS International Horror Film Festival. This gory gathering will take place at the Dipson Theaters located in downtown Buffalo, New York from April 21st to April 23rd, 2006. They will be accepting submissions of horror flicks from around the globe.
`We are three horror fans who somehow found each other,` said Williams laughing. `We saw festivals in other cities, in particular the Toronto Film Festival, and we thought, man, that is only 90 minutes away! How come Toronto has a film festival and Buffalo doesnt?`
Their love of film in general, and horror films in particular, lead to the decision to host a horror film festival. They have just started accepting submissions and expect to receive hundreds of screeners in the next few months. Out of all those submissions they will select only 15 at the most.
`A 3-day pass gets the bearer into all the screenings and into the various special events. We`re looking at also offering them advance seating but that is still in the works.`
`We are not in it for the money that`s for sure,` said Williams, `We are doing it because we love horror films and because, well, because we`re just not right. Probably had to do with me growing up in the Love Canal and with Emil spending most of his life reading comic books. I`m not sure what`s up with Greg.`
