The Green Green Grass Christmas Special

John Sullivan OBE has created a sister show to the very popular Only Fools and Horses Christmas Specials. It`s called Green Green Grass Christmas Special, and is a highly anticpated program this season. For years the British public have tuned in to his Christmas specials. The peak show, `Time on Our Hands`, with 24.3 million viewers, was aired in 1996. The writer of some of the best sitcoms in the last 30 years is now bringing something he hopes the British public will enjoy as much as his previous specials.

It`s well known that Only Fools and Horses is on hold, though a visit to the Only Fools and Horses Appreciaition Society shows its certainly not forgotten. John sullivan though has kept the characters alive by producing a very popular spin-off, The Green Green Grass.

Boycie (John Challis) and Marlene (Sue Holderness) are settled into their new life on Winterdown Farm and have a chance to become part of the country set at the agricultural ball. When Boycie learns royalty are often in attendance, they`re off like a shot - with Marlene dressed in an outrageous pink chiffon ball gown. Del and Rodders are no more but John Sullivan`s spin off, The Green Green Grass, is proving a fine successor and its first BBC1 Christmas Special will indicate just how much appeal it has.
