Warrior Voices Heard in New Book
Barbara Ann Derksen has recently released her latest book, Second to None, Warrior Voices. The novel, focusing on the Korean war, contains first person accounts of the Korean combat experience of the Second Infantry Division veterans of the Army. Although division members served in WWI, WWII, Korea and are still serving in South Korea, Iraq and Fort Lewis today, this collection focuses on the Korean Conflict. The book is dedicated to the brave men who fought for their country.
Second to None is a wonderful piece of work. It is so compelling and moving. Many war books are so bogged down in the military strategy but this book is all about humanity in the midst of war. Raw, real, and gut wrenching, Second to None brings the battlefront to life. Told in the words of 54 Korean War veterans, the book chronicles green recruits evolving into battle-weary warriors. These stories of courage, loss, friendship, and faith memorialize the sacrifices of America`s finest.
Author Barbara Ann Derksen resides in Iowa and has been writing and speaking around the country for 20 years. She served as a journalist for local newspapers for 8 years with over 2000 articles published in those papers as well as some international magazines. She is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers, and Christian Writers Fellowship International. Her agent, Joyce Hart of Hartline Literary Agency is currently handling her latest book With Warped Certainty, the first of a murder trilogy.
