Largest rubber band ball subject of eBay sale

Rather than just planning to sell the world`s largest rubber ball, a South Florida man, Marc Levitt, is going about the idea backwards - by offering the chance to BUILD the ball.

The current Guinness World Record for the largest rubber band ball is 3,120 lbs. Mr. Levitt plans on constructing a rubber band ball of at least 3,500 lbs, with a goal of 4,000 lbs. His project calls for the completion of the ball in fall 2006.

Mr. Levitt recently launched a website to promote the construction - ",Largest Ball", - where he plans to post updates and pictures of the project.

The University of Florida student said the reason behind the auction was to complete a project he had started when he was young, but was never able to finish.
