UK Textile Art Showcase on New Website
Mary-Clare Buckle, a leading UK textile artist, has created a new website, Love from Me, which showcases her artwork. Andrew Green, founder and creator of Love from Me, claims that art sells, especially as personalized gifts. Having said that, this is a gift site like no other you`ve seen.
Andrew continued: `From the very start, I`d always intended that Love from Me should steer well clear of those display-the-banners-and-hope-for-the-best sites, which have mushroomed all over the web. As a web designer myself, it`s vitally important to me that the site should both look good and provide lots of information about the suppliers we feature. An informed customer is simply more likely to buy - and that applies just as much to art as to more `traditional` gifts, like chocolates, flowers, lingerie, etc.`
This is why leading UK textile artist Mary-Clare Buckle decided to showcase her original work and limited edition prints on this innovative new gifts site. Mary-Clare is enthusiastic about her involvement with the gifts site: `As an artist, I`m always pro-active in getting my work known to a wider public. Traditionally, the gifts market has avoided real art, concentrating instead on posters and tired reproductions of work we`ve seen all too often. Being a serious artist shouldn`t preclude selling beyond committed art buyers and I feel that there`s no need to be sniffy about where my art can be seen ... and bought.`
Whilst some of the gift ideas featured on the site are available elsewhere, Love from Me are increasingly moving into products previously unavailable online, or with only limited availability. This particularly applies to art and - soon to be included - designer crafts, as well as some `extra-special` gift ideas which are in the pipeline. Mary-Clare concluded: `They say that retail sales are falling. Well, that`s certainly not my experience! I reckon that people are just moving to the quieter and more comfortable world of online shopping - which is why virtually all my marketing is online, enabling me to avoid those hefty gallery mark-ups and sell my own work in the way I want to sell it and at the prices I want to charge.`
