Introduction to Business Management

Business management is a constant and grueling procedure whereby the owners or those involved must do all that is necessary to produce value for the stakeholders, and generate profits. Such business operations necessitate the harvesting of value from both tangible and intangible assets, in order to produce the value. Intangible assets are values derived from ideas, such as royalty, and tangible assets are physical, like the rent received from a building or the income from manufactured products.

There are 3 fundamental objectives when doing business management. They are: generating recurring income, increasing business value, and securing the income and value of the business. They are all mutually dependent and equally important aspects of business management.

Generating a stable income is the most obvious concept involved in business management, and usually, it requires the delivery of goods and services to be consistently sustained. Additionally, the goods and services of a business must also not cost more than what is charged of customers and/or clients, so that a clear profit can be made. Such profit is known as ?business revenue?, and the cost at which these goods and services are delivered is called the ?business expenses?.

Increasing business value is dependent upon a business? recurring income. Generally, when an asset provides a consistent income, it becomes valuable. The more consistent the income is, the more value it holds. As such, products that sell at large volumes and prices are considered the most valuable to the business.

Securing the income and value of the business is interpreted as ?business stability?, and similar to the connection between producing recurring income and increasing business value, securing the income and value is highly dependent upon the business? long term capability of harvesting value from assets. This ongoing ability is influenced by a number of factors, including accessibility of customers to the business products, and public regard for the business as a whole.
