Small Business is Government`s Prey
In the world of business there are numerous regulations and often the public believes that governmental regulations can actually hurt big businesses. However, this is a very popular myth and nothing more. Unlike the small business companies big businesses actually profit from the various laws passed from the government. Each time there seems to be a contradiction between the government and the truly big business companies it is a misconception that in reality misleads the public.
The concept that the only one who suffers from governmental rules regarding business is the public is reflected in Timothy Carney`s new book: "The Big Rip-off: How Big Business and Big Government Steal Your Money". Big businesses have the assets not only to embrace any new rule that a government passes, even if it seemingly aims to hurt the market, but to benefit from it. Every time a new reform has taken place the first ones to take the blow are the small businesses, and as a result the consumers. The corporate state, unlike the free market where businesses of all shapes and sizes receive an equal chance, mainly targets the consumers as the potential victims, and allows the government ? big business coalition to profit.
Often, the regulations that on the surface meant to disadvantage the big businesses actually help them prosper even more. In reality, big businesses actually receive the support of the government every step of the way. Hence, the scapegoats for advanced governmental decisions are the small businesses that have to work extra hard to stay afloat and still manage to compete with the bigger corporations.
