Survey Reveals Cheating Among the Business Majors
If some people think that business is all about honesty and ethics then the recent study that took place in the field is going to take them by surprise. According to the survey, a shocking huge percentage of graduate business students are cheating systematically on their MBA exams. This fact can really disappoint the idealists among us but nevertheless this proves that business and integrity don`t always go hand in hand.
Business school students, as well as staff, claim that there are numerous reasons to this outrages fact. Some say that the very nature of business is pushing the future business moguls to cheat and look for the easy solution. Professors point out yet another problematic aspect of MBA studying experience. For instance, numerous students tend to cheat more on the exams when the single "correct answer" is present. In these cases the temptation to cheat is bigger than when it comes to essays that require more individuality and personal opinions.
However, not all hope is lost for those who plan to make it big in the business world. Several graduate business programs declare that the percentage of cheaters among their MBA students is much less drastic. In addition, many students claim that getting admitted into the prestigious MBA program is an accomplishment all by it self. Thus, when you are already admitted into the desired program you are apt to work honestly for the grades. Many business schools require their students to take an ethics course and of course, students sign an honor code. Hence, no need to get overly suspicious each time your path crosses with an MBA graduate.
