Canadian Phone Directory Announces Expansion

Phonebook advertising has long been shown to effectively raise a company`s profile if the ads placed within a phonebook is catchy or splashy enough. It is also the case that simply being listed in a telephone directory increases the chances that you or your business will be located more quickly than if you`re not listed. In the Free World, telephone book advertising is big business, and in Toronto, Canadian Phone Directories has announced its entry into the highly competitive Toronto phone market.

Canadian Phone Directories, otherwise known as "Canpages", claims to produce over 70 regional directories throughout the Dominion of Canada. Canpages estimates its products reach a circulation of around five million in the Great White North. Joining up with other online branches of traditional phone directories, Canpages manages the "yellow.ca" website for Internet searches. Canpages entry into the Toronto region is set to begin in the summer of 2007.

?Toronto is the only city of its size in North America without competition in the directory marketplace,? said Canpages CEO Olivier Vincent. "Competitive telephone book options here are long overdue." According to Vincent, Canpages expansion makes for "a terrific opportunity for advertisers to access a better value source for their directory needs. Advertisers and consumers tell us that they are excited about the possibilities."
