Ice-Cream Banned at Disney Theme Parks
Looks like the "healthy eating" trend has caught up with the young crowd. Say goodbye to French fries and ice cream, and hello to carrots and celery sticks! One of the biggest names in child-entertainment industry, Walt Disney has decided to forgo the beloved by many of us junk-foods and stick with the nutritional low-fat formula. This is what awaits you next time you decide to pay a visit to a Walt Disney theme park.
According to plans Disney has announced, by next year`s end Trans fats will be eradicated from the snacks and meals that are served in the theme parks. The company has expressed its growing concern for the obesity problem that has increased significantly among children, and has decided to make numerous efforts to help solve this problem. Most probably the kids will not be too happy to hear that meals will become smaller, will contain less fats and sugar, and of course will decrease in calories.
In addition to changing the theme-park`s menu drastically Disney has made some additional changes in promoting of various products. According to company`s statements from now on it will promote healthier foods, like breakfast cereals and other nutritional meals. A considerable step in that direction was made last year, when Disney and McDonalds ended an exclusive 10 year old contract, therefore, stopping the promotions of Disney animated films with Happy Meals.
