Movie Networks Think Twice

We all know how glamorous the Hollywood industry seems from the outside. The money that surrounds it practically turns it into one of the most successful businesses of our times. Of course, one of the most envied characters in the business are the sought after movie-stars. We watch the gorgeous actors and actresses on Channel E!, we learn by heart their every role, their family-life and the sum on their latest paycheck. However, are those paychecks about to get smaller?

Hollywood executives really need to think twice before they pay another fantastic salary to actors like Tom Cruise and Lindsey Lohan. Could be that the huge price for the movie star`s participation in a picture is too high, and that leads to the network losing money. Simple observations prove that in the last decade the movies that have grossed the highest revenue were not the movies with the biggest stars appearing in them, rather movies with great scripts and special affects, often based on a well-known comic-strip.

For instance, movies like "Spider-Man", "Superman Returns", and the "Chronicles of Narnia" were a much bigger hit in the box-office then the highly promoted "Mission Impossible III". Looks like the mere appearance of Tom Cruise in a movie just doesn`t cut it anymore. Thus, there is a possibility that the Networks are handing out big paychecks for nothing, instead of investing into the screenwriters and special effect specialists. Therefore, the profits of the movie business are not as high as they could have been.
