Toy Industry Boosts Its Sales This Holiday Season
The fourth-quarter season has arrived, bringing with it several major holidays. As we all know, holidays spells profits for most of the retailer businesses, however, the industry that has really much to celebrate, is the toy industry. Children will always be children and during the holiday season are mainly treated to numerous gifts. Yet, an important change has occurred in the last few years, lately the gifts that were first priority on children`s wish-list were all sorts of electronic goods. Portable gaming platforms like Sony and various MP3 players were proudly leading the way.
Nevertheless, the situation has changed once again and the, seemingly, natural order of things has been maintained. The toy industry has managed to get itself together and offer the little customers something they couldn`t refuse. According to the "Hot Dozen" list of the Toy Wishes magazine the demand on toys has increased significantly. Currently, the most desired gifts are the long awaited TMX Elmo, a new version of the Monopoly game, digital camera designed especially for 3-year olds and Princess Genevieve Barbie.
This must be a huge relieve to all the toy-businesses, due to the fact that usually the fourth-quarter holiday season is responsible for approximately 50 percent of all general sales of the toy dealers. Another interesting fact should be taken into consideration: this year a number of toys have become more technically modernized, which might attract the children as well.
