Halloween Does Not Scare the Retailers
When it comes to holidays, one of the all-time favorites is Christmas. However, when it comes to holidays, joyous spirit and decking the halls with boughs of holly is not the only thing that attracts the crowd. Some of us like a good scare and dressing up as the boogeyman. And the industry is only too happy to assist us in that quest. So, you probably figured that we are talking about Halloween that is nearing. Some of us like to spend this special night watching the Twilight Zone marathon, others prefer to hide under the covers with the light on, escaping the evil tooth fairy, while yet another category of real holiday lovers likes to wander around dressed like witches and vampires.
For a long time dressing for Halloween was considered to be mainly children`s priority. Nevertheless, business reports state that over the last few years Halloween costumes have become immensely popular among the adults as well. The National Retail Federation states that this year Halloween costumes are estimated to jump by nearly 50 percent in comparison to last year sales. An expected $4.96 billion is to be spent on costumes. As adults continue to enjoy Halloween in all its aspects the businesses who deal with it prepare to make their revenue.
More and more people want to show off their creativity, when it comes to picking the appropriate costume for the holiday. Hence, more businesses tend to invest in the making of the costumes. According to Yahoo Shopping, Halloween costumes are on the top ten search list. All in all, this makes Halloween one of the biggest spending holidays.
