M&M`s Offer Chocolate to Art Thieves
Usually businesses mainly care about their own revenue. However, sometimes famous companies can behave in the most unpredicted way. Of course, everyone has heard of the large donations to the charity that most companies make. We are also familiar with other types of customer attention-grabbers. Things like outrageous promotions, innovative advertisements and one-of-a-kind deals are all familiar to us in the context of the business world. However, recently, one company has come up with a whole new way to promote their product.
The famous candy that we all like to enjoy: M&M`s is offering an amazing and unique deal. The company decided to combine revenue with a very surprising charity. In the 2004 a famous painting "The Scream", by artist Edvard Munch, was stolen from the Oslo Museum. The story had received exclusive coverage and the public was upset and outraged by the gesture. Well, turns out that M&M`s is one altruist. The company offered two million dark chocolate M&M`s to the person that will return "The Scream".
The gesture is very unusual and is bound to attract a lot of attention from the public. Aside from the noble cause of helping return the famous painting the company has some business interests in mind. As the vice-president of marketing noted regarding this act, dark-chocolate M&M`s were extremely popular among the consumers and the company has decided to add them permanently. These calculations make this a mind blowing promotional act! Hence, if the customers are mainly content with the new, delicious addition, the more compassionate among us hope that "The Scream`s" thieves have a craving for chocolate.
