New Book for Self-Employed Marketing

Proven Marketing Tactics for the Self-Employed is a new book which adapts big business principles to small owner-operated businesses. Building on the premise that the task of marketing is to create customers, marketing the business is broken into the four main areas of focus: know customers, attract customers, acquire customers, and keep customers. Emphasis is placed on creating marketing systems that business owners can start and maintain while they keep running the other parts of their business.

"This book grew out of the networking I did through my local chamber of commerce," said Bob Shawgo, "Every networking event seemed to lead to a conversation about adapting big-business marketing principles to self-employed ventures. Most of my consulting work is with companies that are looking at marketing strategies and tactics to drive millions of dollars in revenue. As I interacted with start-ups and small businesses through the chamber, I began to see that the strategies were similar, but the daily application, the tactics, had to be adjusted for individuals wearing many hats."
