Disney Takes Europe By Sea

When Disney opened up a family oriented theme park in California in 1955 and later Disney World in Florida, people from across the globe flocked to the site, helping Disney become the billion dollar business it is today. Many decades later the company decided that it would take the sea by storm by offering a Disney cruise around Florida and the Caribbean. Yet again, families joined in the fun activites aboard the cruise, enjoying the fact that their children were being well cared for by Disney "magic".

The company has recently decided to take its cruise line abroad and is hoping to set said in Europe starting May 2007. Disney is sailing into new territory. Company officials announced Wednesday that Disney Cruise Lines will sail to Italy, France and Spain from May to August 2007 as part of a larger strategy to "chart new waters". The Disney Magic cruise ship will offer eight alternating 10 and 11-night Mediterranean cruises, departing from Barcelona, Spain, and stopping in eight European cities.

The company says it will provide families with information on what cities to visit, where to eat and what shows to see. Rates for the cruises start at $2,400 per person. Disney first took to the seas in 1998 ? offering family-friendly cruise from Florida to the Caribbean.
