Motorola Razr Sales on Hold
When it comes to cellular technology, no cell phone has been more popular is recent years then the Motorola Razr. The Razr is not only slim and sleek but it provides a sophisticated look regardless of whether you utilize the mobile technology for business or pleasure. However, it seems that this signature Motorola phone is not all it`s cracked up to be. Cingular Wireless and T-Mobile USA have temporarily stopped selling the Razr, Motorola Inc.`s flagship cell phone, due to a technical glitch that causes the phone to drop calls or shut down.
Cingular, the No. 1 U.S. mobile service, stopped selling the phones on Monday ? but the company hopes to make it available again as soon as possible. T-Mobile USA pulled all Razrs from its shelves on Wednesday and hopes to start selling the phone again by early next week, according to a spokesman. Experts estimate that Cingular and T-Mobile USA derive 10 percent to 15 percent of their handset sales from the Razr.
A component in the defective Razrs was discovered to be cutting off calls when the flip phones opened. Motorola was working to fix the problem and said no phones were being recalled. Razrs sold through Verizon Wireless are unaffected since Verizon uses a different wireless technology than Cingular and T-Mobile and the phones have different components.
