Computer Upgrades For Your Business Made Easier

Whether you are upgrading computers in your business or in your home, the biggest inconvenience of getting a new PC is to reinstall programs and move files. When a new computer is set up it generally takes a full day to restore all the settings you need for your business including software, hardware and the like. There is a solution to this problem, and the firm who developed it was purchased by Microsoft. Microsoft Corp. says it has bought Web software maker Apptimum Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

PC Mag.com reports Apptimum`s Alohabob PC Relocator software tool will be available to Windows Vista customers for downloading. But Microsoft did not reveal when it would release the tool. Microsoft stated that their customers and business partners have been asking for a much easier way to transfer their data and applications from old computers to new ones. They have improved this experience in Windows Vista, and as a result of the Apptimum acquisition, Microsoft will make it even easier for customers to transfer the applications that are most important to them.

Alohabob software won a PC Magazine Editor`s Choice Award. It shifts applications as well as settings from one PC to the next. David Henrickson, co-founder and chief technology officer of Apptimum, says in a statement, "Microsoft`s acquisition of Apptimum will dramatically extend the reach of our solutions to millions of Windows customers around the world."
