Help Fight Poverty With Your Credit Card

It seems as if the biggest celebrities, from Angelina Jolie to U2`s Bono are in the business of saving people. This is not at all surprising when you consider how much money these celebs actually have. Helping those that are less fortunate should ideally be the priority for these high end celebrities. Now you can join in the fight to help those less fortunate with two of big names in Hollywood all with the swipe of your charge card.

Bono and supermodel Elle MacPherson are the faces behind the Red Card by American Express that will raise money to fight the AIDS epidemic in Africa. The company promises to donate 1 percent of the total funds spent on it towards fighting AIDS. Bono says, "This is really sexy to me. It is sexy to want to change the world. Red is a 21st-century idea. I think doing the Red thing, doing good, will turn out to be good business for them."

Bono got a long way with Make Poverty History, a charity organization that combats the global income gap, but believes that they need to keep the heat on these issues. Some people will be offended that activists like himself are working with big companies, but when you see people queuing up to die from a disease which is curable, it makes you want to do something.
