New US Ten Dollar Bill

Over the past few years the United States Government decided to start upgrading their dollar notes. It started with small changes that made forging bills much more difficult. However, after these changes were made, even more creative ideas came about, which not only increased security on the bills but also added a bit more flare to the dull green note. The next note to be released by the US Treasury will be the US$10 note and businesses are starting to prepare. De La Rue Cash Systems has upgraded its industry-leading, high-speed sorters to handle the new US$10 note.

Due to be launched on 2 March by the US Department of Treasury, the new note incorporates state-of-the-art security features to combat counterfeiting. These include color-shifting inks, improved watermarks and a novel security thread. De La Rue has worked closely with the Department of Treasury and the US Federal Reserve to ensure that the upgrades to its CPS and Cobra families of sorters meet the stringent requirements of banks and ATM operators both in the US and abroad. This will ensure a seamless transition for the new note into worldwide commerce.

Capable of processing in excess of 100,000 notes per hour, the CPS family of sorters offers multiple hardware, detector, and software options, as well as integration into customers? current IT systems. Truly modular and upgradeable, these systems are easily configured and expanded. They offer the most advanced technology to enable automated commercial deposit processing (ACDP), together with options in single pass processing. For its part, with achieved speeds of over 36,000 notes per hour the Cobra sets new standards in desktop cash handling. It is modern, multi-functional, purpose-designed and extremely adaptable for changing cash handling needs.
