New Sea Hotel in England
Visitors to the southern coast of England can check into a stylish new hotel with information about autical history this summer, as one of Gosport`s oldest inns has announced that it will be re-opening its doors on July 1 following a total refurbishment. The Old Lodge Hotel and Restaurant, in Alverstoke, now features a completely new look...including a 55-seat restaurant and 11 ?characterized? bedrooms.
As the former home of R.E. Froude, pioneering hydrodynamicist (you can find out what that is at The Old Lodge), The Old Lodge offers a new seaside retreat with strong historical links. Says hotel manager Alistair Taylor, "It`s a real privilege to see this historical building take on a new lease of life in the form of a hotel. The Lodge offers the best of both worlds. It boasts the charm, intimacy and originality of an independently-run inn, with the service and standards of a established and well-reputed hotel."
"In terms of accommodation, this area often lacks choice for visitors," said Alistair. "There are either family-run B&Bs or branded chain hotels but very little in-between. We believe The Lodge offers an affordable yet exclusive option and with a well-run and more personal touch." So visitors to southern England keep an eye out for this opportunity to visit a great new inn and restaurant.
