Getting People to Shop Online

The birth of the internet gave entrepreneurs all over the world a chance to start their own businesses, and slowly but steadily over the years many shoppers at the busiest shopping times of the year are choosing to buy for themselves and their loves ones online. Some online merchants try to scare people into buying online and avoid malls altogether, and while the wisdom of scaring rather than appealing to people might not be apparent, to the operators of "the Emporium Mall", an online shopping area, it does make sense.

"Would you enjoy yourself in your local mall if you were barraged with things popping down from the ceiling or springing up from the floor as you try to enter or leave the mall?" asks David Nelmes, sales manager at The Emporium Mall. "Would you look forward to signs floating in front of your face as you attempted to navigate through the halls? It`s more likely you would leave...and possibly not return."

"Of course, there`s more to visiting your local mall than just shopping and that`s why the Emporium Mall also includes helpful articles that provide entertainment and insight to the Home and Garden world," Nelmes says. "In addition to the articles for each category, there are also links to other similar resources that are provided through a feed from a leader in Home and Garden world, Designing Online." Will the Emporium Mall succeed, or will it join the rest of the many online shopping areas that exist? Only time will tell if the revenues match the talk.
