Hotel Hotline Ranks Fireworks Destinations
Where are the best places in the country to celebrate America`s birthday, watch fireworks, relax and BBQ? Well on July 4, 2006, Washington, D.C., our nation`s capital, is listed by hotelier associations as one of the most important and appropriate locations to celebrate 230 years of independence. According to the CEO of Hotel Hotline, Greg Hartnett, "A trip to the capital city isn`t just for schoolchildren. Overflowing with museums and restaurants, D.C. also makes for an excellent grown-up destination for the long holiday weekend."
Meanwhile, the city that helps determine much of American culture and style is also on the list, and it also happens to be the financial capital of the United States economy. That`s right, New York. According to the president of Hotel Hotline, "There is nothing more American than feeling like a great big part of the melting pot in the great Big Apple. Follow the teeming masses to South Street Seaport for the fireworks show on the East River-or find a rooftop and take in the Fourth of July celebrations in all five boroughs plus New Jersey."
While Las Vegas also made the list, many people might wish to avoid America`s playground on July 4, even though it has become much more family-oriented than it used to be. As for San Francisco, hotels all over the Bay Area offer great deals to celebrant`s of America`s freedom. Rounding out the list by Hotel Hotline include Boston, Orlando, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where the Declaration of Independence was agreed upon by the Continental Congress and read out.
