Every Great Search Engine Must Fall
When you think search engine the first business that comes to mind is Google.com. It is a fast and efficient site that can supply users with great results, and until recently, it was the best. But there seems to be a new sheriff in this business now, and though it has still not broken through and taken over, time is ticking down for the Google business empire. The new search engine, Ask.com, is far from new. In previous years it was known as Ask Jeeves, but never really took hold, as it used software that brought limited results to its users.
Today however, Ask.com knows exactly how to run a proper search engine and how to bring people exactly what they are looking for. So, what makes Ask.com superior to Google? For starters, Ask.com has limited ads on their site. When you search on Google for anything, you will always see an advertisement first, followed by a list of relevant results. In addition, Google has a plethora of ads on the right hand margin of the browser window, Ask.com on the other hand does not. In fact, Ask.com features zero ads before its first results, the right margin is used for tools to help the user not ads to help the business.
Ask.com offers users a bunch of great tools to help improve search results and even related queries to help increase the information provided. Their business plan does not revolve around making as much money possible for every search, but rather bringing in more searches with dedicated and happy customers. It`s not to say that Ask.com will replace Google, MSN or Yahoo, but it certainly is the next big player in the field. Other search engines will need to improve their services in the future in order to compete with what Ask.com provides its users today.
