Weighing Your Job Options
Working is no walk in the park, the fact is no one 100% enjoys their job, regardless of what business they work for. There are those rare individuals who love what they do every single day, but they are called outliers and really don`t count. Sure, we are all very happy for them and their business dealings, but frankly they secretly make us kind of nauseous. So, how do you decide whether or not to stay at your current job or start looking for something better?
When you think about it, a job is kind of like a relationship, there are good times and bad. It is during the bad times that you start thinking about finding a new partner, or in the business world, a new job. However, it is never a good idea to make rash decisions on your bad days. Your best bet is to weigh both the pros and cons of your current position and then decide if you could do better. If you are currently questioning your opens, perhaps you should ask yourself some very important questions.
For starters, do you know what`s expected of you at work? If you answered no to this, perhaps your position isn`t for you! At work, do you have the opportunity to do what you do best every day? In the last 7 days, have you received recognition or praise for doing your job well? Do others in the business respect you and do you respect them? Do you have a good friend at the office? These are just a few of the questions that you should ask yourself before you either decide to stay or leave your current position. Be smart with your decisions, and don`t leave unless you are guaranteed something better elsewhere.
