Looking at the Future of China and India

The world`s economy is moving forward with the flow of globalization these days, and most of the nations of the world have grown through this transition after their acceptance that it cannot really be effectively resisted or avoided. In terms of the developing world, democratic India and Communist China are interesting examples of the effects of globalization. The cases of China and India are interesting because of where they are situated, their growing populations, and the differences between the world?s largest democracy and the world?s largest Communist state.

Both are growing economies of the world which have drawn the attention of the United States and Europe in recent years. China, still run by the Communists in Beijing, engage in religious and political oppression but have otherwise opened their economy up more than the Soviet Union ever could have. There are the two most populous countries of the world, and are expected to grow even more in the coming decades.

A major issue having to do with the growth of both India and China is the growing middle class, who, while making smaller amounts than their contemporaries in the West stand out from the poverty-stricken sectors of both their economy, and their country as a whole. Millions are advancing, slowly but surely, but others are also being left behind. What effect this will have on their GDPs and the world economy as a whole remain to be seen.
