Better Support for Small and Medium Businesses
Calling in for support has become one of the most undesirable activities in a day. In fact, software and hardware based businesses have begun to eliminate their call in support system and replacing them with PC remote support software. With remote PC connection businesses have the ability to link into a customer`s computer to manually fix the problem instead of explaining to the customer how to do it themselves. In response to consumer needs, Network Streaming has updated their pricing structure to make ownership of their pc remote control appliance more accessible to small and medium-sized businesses.
Although Network Streaming?s total cost of ownership for Support Desk, the company?s appliance-based PC remote control product, has always been less than that of other solutions, the upfront costs were sometimes difficult for smaller companies with cash flow and capex restrictions. Because this made the product less accessible to these companies, Network Streaming added a separate pricing line, offering the product as a managed appliance. Network Streaming has also restructured their maintenance contracts for those with perpetual licenses, lowering the price for software support, and initiating separate hardware replacement contracts.
Their new structure also offsets the comparative advantage of off-shoring by making it possible to eliminate phone support, which, per recent surveys done by PC Magazine, is losing popularity, due largely to communication difficulties. The success of phone support is also dependant on the computer literacy of the end-user ? an unpredictable variable that is eliminated in the PC remote control model where the support rep is able to see the remote computer as if he were sitting in front of it.
