College Student Looks for Tuition on eBay
A college student from Anaheim Hills, California tried putting a percentage of his future earnings for sale on eBay, the internet auction house, hoping to find funding for his education. 19-year-old Ron Steen is looking for an investor, he`ll give 2% of everything he earns up to retirement for a mere $100 thousand, are you interested? " from the moment I finish college in 2012 until I am 65 in 2052 you will receive a check in the mail every January made out for 2% of my earnings from the previous year according to my W2?s," He wrote in his ad.
Steen said that he is the "real deal" and that he is a "very intelligent guy," on his ad on eBay saying that he intends to make "way more" than $125 thousand by the time he retires and therefore is sure to return on investment. In order for Steen to match a more conventional investment that yielded say 6% a year, Steen would have to make at least $1.5 million for the minimum $100 thousand he is asking for.
But alas, no investor was found. eBay removed the ad for violations of the website`s charity policies, while several bogglers took the time to taunt him on a spelling mistake he made in his ad. Luckily for Steen, he`s got his dad`s confidence and he is currently paying his way through California State University at Fullerton, unless you`d like to make the investment of your life?
