RILA Names New Chairman
The Retail Industry Leaders Association, which represents more than $1 trillion in sales annually and operate more than 100,000 stores, manufacturing facilities and distribution centers nationwide, named this week BestBuy Inc.`s Vice Chairman and CEO Brad Anderson as chairman of the board of directors.
The 17 retail companies that serve on RILA`s board of directors represent a combined sales volume of more than $500 billion. Robert A. Niblock, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Lowe`s Companies, Inc., was elected first vice chairman and Gregg Steinhafel, president of Target, was elected second vice chairman.
"With officers representing Best Buy, Lowe`s, Target, Wal-Mart, and Michael`s, the leadership of RILA is truly representative of the power players in retail," says Sandy Kennedy, president of RILA. "The energy, experience and dynamic outlook that these executives bring to our association will enable RILA to continue to address the top issues facing the industry."
