Southwest Increases Flights to New Orleans
Southwest Airlines has announced it will increase its daily flight schedule to New Orleans with the addition of two new flights starting on Oct. 17, 2005. One flight has been added to accommodate demand earlier in the day with the other giving an additional option in the early afternoon.
Following Hurricane Katrina, Southwest returned to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on Sept. 20, 2005, with two daily roundtrip flights between New Orleans and Houston`s Hobby Airport (HOU). That schedule will be boosted by two additional roundtrips each day.
Since commercial air service to the city will be limited for some time, Southwest has initially focused its service into Houston, where Southwest has a significant presence with a wide range of destinations for its New Orleans Customers.
