U.K. Crane Builder Expands

The UK",s largest privately owned crane maker, Street Crane Company, has announced it is on target to export 1500 hoist units and crane kits overseas this year. A key element in this success is an expanding network of international trade partners in areas as remote as Oman, Chile and Vietnam.

The company is well known for their reliable factory cranes, of which Street produce over 400 complete units per year, mostly for UK manufacturers. Street realised many years ago that it was not practical to export the heavy ",low-tech", structural parts of a crane, however, their expertise, hoists and controls were in demand.

Thirty years ago Street became an active exporter. Most sales at that time were to the Middle East and Africa through UK companies delivering power and infrastructure projects. As overseas industrial development progressed, the focus has changed and the company became directly involved, servicing overseas clients through a network of trade partners.
