TiVO and Yahoo to Partner Up

Yahoo and TiVO are reportedly preparing to announce an agreement soon that will connect Yahoo`s online service to TiVO`s set-top boxes. The deal will help TiVO utilize unused capability to connect to the Internet, and present a range of content and services linked to the net.

Under the agreement, TiVO users will be able to use Yahoo`s television listings to find programs. They will be able to send instructions to their TiVO`s to record those shows by clicking the appropriate boxes.

It will also intensify Yahoo?s effort to develop its services from personal computers to other devices, including mobile phones and the television set. TiVO and Yahoo are making the move in the midst of a time of great interest by networks of offering on-demand access to popular shows so that people can watch them on their own time.
