Varatouch licenses to Korean Hankuk Polytech
The leading designer of innovative analog input devices for consumer electronic products, Varatouch, today announced its newest licensee will be Hankuk Polytech Corporation, a Korean-based manufacturer of silicone keypads, poly dome switches, flexible PCBs, membrane switches and other components for the handheld consumer electronic industry. Hankuk Polytech has agreed to license Varatouchs patented Vsense technology to develop, manufacture, market, distribute and support human interface devices for the Media Player, MP3 player and advanced remote control marketplace - a new and expanded market segment for Varatouch.
",Varatouch`s analog HID technology is enabling the convergence of many advanced applications. The low-power consumption, design flexibility and small form factor of this technology are exactly what our customers have been asking for,", says Jackie Choi, President of Hankuk Polytech Corporation.
Via this license agreement, Varatouch will provide pre-validated reference designs for analog joysticks, navigation discs, and touchpads. Hankuk Polytech will market, manufacture and distribute these analog interface technologies with the goal of replacing ineffective digital input devices currently being offered today. Hankuk Polytech has paid Varatouch an undisclosed right-to-market fee of hundreds of thousands of dollars and will pay Varatouch a royalty for every unit sold to OEMs/ODMs.
