Oil crisis subject of new speculative book

Peak Oil is a new book about the world running out of oil far sooner than the Politicians would have us believe. Unless the world cuts its use of oil use soon, we might not even reach the 2022 predicted in "Unlimited Energy" without serious financial collapse.

More coal burning power stations are being built around the world to supplement our overwhelming energy needs. Two large unregulated Power Stations can probably produce more pollution than all the SUVs in the World. These coal burning power stations emit life shattering by-products such as Mercury which pollutes our water and fish, causes fertility problems and a whole range of illnesses. One in six Americans have unacceptably high Mercury levels from a cumulative build up associated with, to name a few, eating contaminated fish, atmospheric mercury, silver fillings which are 50pc mercury and crematoria.

The book makes the argument that if we depend on oil for all our energy and transport needs and subsequently use it up before there are substitutes, we wont have any left to make vital products and manufacturing costs will go through the roof. The same goes for coal. World hyper-inflation is a short step away. For all the criticism, the writer considers that U.S. President Bush has a far ranging clarity of vision, which goes beyond the smoke screens most politicians emanate. President Bush is right about the need to find new technology for our energy needs. Let us hope that he is serious about A quest for clear skies. That will be the greatest thing that he could do for our immortality.
