First Annual Human Capital Summit
Human Capital Summit and Expo is making its first annual appearance in Chicago in 2006. The summit is for human capital professionals and executives who understand that talent will be the key driver for success in the knowledge economy. The key concept in this summit is to place emphasis on what turns a successful professional into a failure, therefore allowing attendees to pinpoint their errors and correct them.
The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a professional association and educator in talent management strategies, announced today that Dr. Sydney Finkelstein, Tuck professor, best-selling author, and international thought leader, will join HCI?s inaugural National Human Capital Summit, to be held in Chicago April 6-7.
Widely known as one of the top authorities on strategy and leadership, Finkelstein is the author of ?Why Smart Executives Fail,? a book based on a six-year study of top global companies and their business leaders. Hailed worldwide and translated into 11 languages, the book has been called ?a marvel? by The Wall Street Journal. Every year, Sydney Finkelstein gives talks throughout America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He is known for his ability to address a wide range of audiences in an entertaining fashion, and for the depth and authority he brings to the subject of learning from corporate mistakes and failures.
Day one of the Summit, Dr. Finkelstein will present ?The Seven Habits of Highly Unsuccessful People,? a session that will explore how seemingly beneficial habits and so-called positive leadership traits can actually make smart, previously successful people go wrong. Sydney Finkelstein is the Steven Roth Professor of Management at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, where he teaches Strategy & Management courses. His group is one of the highest rated at Tuck, and it has helped propel Dartmouth?s Tuck School to near the top in recent business school rankings.
