Are you wasting gas on your commute?
Congested roadways cost American drivers 3.6 billion hours and 5.7 billion gallons of wasted fuel annually. Over three million Americans endure daily commutes of 90 minutes or more each way to work. They are among the fastest-growing segment of commuters, according to a U.S. Census study. Commuters are facing longer drives to work every day, and help seems to be very slow to arrive. With no end in sight and government programs that are woefully overdue, people need to explore all their commuting options.
Today more than ever, Commuters need all the help they can get. A new website named CommuterResource was launched recently by J.L. Gilbert & Company, Inc. to address the issues commuters face by providing information, products and services aimed at making the daily commute a little less painful. Commuters from San Diego to Boston will find transportation options and local resources aimed at improving the workday journey.
Because of soaring real estate prices, workers are relocating to more affordable outlying areas and traveling greater distances to their jobs. Daily travel times continue to increase as more and more long distance commuters are added to already stressed transportation systems.
